The crude palm oil can be refined and fractionated to give edible grade packaging oil and stearin. Decolourisation and deodorisation is required before fractionation of soft fats of other melting points. Palm liquid oil (super soft fats) is the mainstay in investment fractionation plants. Other oils and fats are also taken into account.

Palm oil is semi-liquid at 20°C to 25°C and oxidation stable. In order to improve the economic efficiency of palm oil producing countries, the gross palm oil (melting point 33°C) is sub-refined into 24°C palm oil and 44°C palm oil. General imported palm oil indicators: FFA content at 0.06%, moisture content at 0.05%, imported 24°C palm oil iodine value is generally greater than 56, acid value (KOH) less than 0.15mg/g


These low melting point palm oils are sold directly, or as blending oil, or for further processing. Another product oil 28°C palm oil as a special oil for food, can also be separated again to extract 38°C oil and 24°C oil. 24°C oil back to raw oil, 38°C oil as instant noodle oil.

Brief description of the palm oil fractionation process.
The oil to be sorted is heated according to a set temperature in order to destroy the original solid crystals. After heating the palm oil is transported to the crystallisation tank where the crystallisation process is controlled fully automatically by a pre-selected set program. During the crystallisation process, different stirring speeds are required at different temperature stages.
After the crystallisation is complete the filtering stage is entered. The soft and hard fats are filtered out and fed into the storage tank. The filter needs to be flushed within a certain period of time. The rinsing of the filter is carried out by melting the heated palm oil. The flushing money is circulated by heating the oil to 60°C (not exceeding 60°C) and then automatically by means of a preset program
