Western olive oil--Oriental Tung oil
Western olive oil--Oriental Tung oil
Idesia polycarpa maxim is a deciduous tree belonging to the genus Idesia in the family Flacourtiaceae. Mountain Tung, also known as mountain Wutong, half frost red, oil grape, chair Tung (Hunan), water winter melon (Shaanxi, Sichuan, Zhejiang), water winter Tung (Hunan), chair tree (Book of songs), etc. There is only one species of this genus in the world, mainly growing in Japan, North Korea, the Far East of Russia and China. In China, it is mainly distributed in the north subtropical deciduous and evergreen broad-leaved mixed forests and subtropical evergreen and deciduous broad-leaved forests in North China, central China, southwest and northwest
In addition to its ornamental value, it can also extract oil, which has high market value and edible value! The fruit and seed of small tung tree can be pressed for oil, with high oil content, high fruit oil yield and good oil quality. Because of its high quality and high nutrition, tung oil can be comparable to olive oil, and has the reputation of "Western olive oil, Oriental tung oil". So, do you know how to extract oil from Jatropha?

The specific process flow of oil extraction from tung tree seeds:
1. Drying
Prior to oil extraction, proper drying treatment shall be carried out for the seeds, which is conducive to subsequent fruit removal and pressing. Moreover, the fruit removal effect of dried fruit is good, the fruit removal rate has reached 98%, the residue rate is low, and the phenomenon of broken fruit is rarely seen.
2. Fruiting
After drying, the raw materials of Jatropha are sent to the fruit remover through the conveying equipment to remove the fruit branches. The fruit branches of Jatropha are easy to absorb grease and block the equipment, which will reduce the oil yield and affect the normal operation of the oil press.
3. Low temperature heating
After the fruits are removed, they are sent to the electric heating frying pan for low-temperature heating. The frying pan is equipped with an automatic temperature control system to control the heating temperature to not exceed 55 degrees. Low temperature heating can speed up the oil yield and avoid excessive processing, while retaining the nutritional components and unique flavor of Tung oil.
4. Secondary pressing
The heated material enters the primary press through the conveying equipment for primary pressing; The first pressed cake enters the improved secondary press and is pressed again for oil. After repeated oil extraction test of jatropha, the series oil press can be used to press. The thickness of the cake after secondary pressing is 0.5-0.8 mm and the residual oil of the dry cake is controlled below 6%.
5. Fine filtration
The pressed crude oil enters the crude oil tank and is preliminarily filtered in the crude oil tank to remove large oil residue; And then the clean cold pressed crude oil is obtained after being filtered by a filter.
The fatty acid composition of tung oil is characterized by high linoleic acid and total unsaturated acid. It is a potential high-quality edible vegetable oil and a good raw material for extracting and enriching linoleic acid for medical purposes.
