一、 Two pressing processes way of flaxseed

1. Hot pressing method: It refers to the oil produced by physical pressing after frying or steaming oil crops at high temperature. It is a more traditional pressing process and has a higher oil yield.

2. Cold pressing method: Flaxseed oil is a vegetable oil extracted under low temperature conditions with huge pressure of physical machinery, so it is called cold pressing method. It does not go through the traditional process of high temperature frying or steaming, so the oil is still distributed in the undeformed. In the protein cells, it is very rich in the inherent components of flaxseed (a variety of nutrients such as linolenic acid).

二、 Advantages and disadvantages of two different pressing methods

(1) Cold pressing method

Flaxseed harvesting and screening→linseeds→cleaning impurities→hulling→crushing→low temperature pressing→pressing linseed crude oil→coarse filtration→fine filtration→low temperature crystallization and crystallization→low temperature filtration→cold pressed linseed oil

Features of cold pressing process:

1. Avoid the harmful substances caused by the degradation of oils and sugars and the denaturation of proteins during high temperature pressing

2. Avoid the darkening of linseed oil caused by high temperature, and the phenomenon of paste smell.

3. After multiple filtration, the direct contact of chemical substances with an active ingredient and secondary pollution caused by sulfuric acid degumming, caustic soda deacidification and activated clay decolorization in the hot pressing process are avoided.

4. Avoid high-temperature distillation and deodorization, effectively prevent the high temperature from damaging the polyunsaturated fatty acid-α-linolenic acid in linseed oil, effectively retain the natural and complete nutrients, and are easier for the human body to absorb and supplement nutrients.

Advantages: Almost all the nutrients in flaxseed are retained, the taste is refreshing and not greasy, and the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids is rich.

(2) Hot pressing method

Flaxseed harvesting, screening → flaxseed → cleaning impurities → shelling → crushing → frying → pressing flaxseed crude oil → coarse filtration → filtration → degumming → washing → dehydration → decolorization → deodorization → hot-pressed flaxseed oil

Hot pressing process characteristic

1. It can improve the oil yield, improve the taste of the oil, and the fragrance is relatively strong.

2. It is easy to cause high temperature oxidative polymerization, decomposition to produce peroxides and some harmful substances, and destroy the nutrients of some species.

3. High temperature causes protein denaturation, which greatly reduces the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in linseed oil, and even produces trans fatty acids.

4. There are many impurities, such as flaxseed dander, phospholipids, free fatty acids, etc., which affect the appearance and color of the oil and the internal quality of the oil.

Advantages: Flaxseed oil has a rich and mellow taste, and has a high oil yield.

Disadvantage: frying seeds at high temperature will reduce the content of active ingredients in oil and cause protein denaturation.
