Several Precautions For Safe Operation Of Oil Press

The use of oil presses is increasing. Many users encounter problems due to improper operation when using an oil press to extract oil. To ensure the stable and safe operation of the oil press, we will explain several precautions below to ensure the normal production of the oil press.

1.Before starting or during the operation of the oil press, it is strictly forbidden to screw the screw shaft to the dead point, as this can cause the slag tip and the cake ring to contact and wear each other, leading to mechanical accidents.

2. When the oil press is running, tighten the anti-loosening nut to prevent the shaft from moving.

3. When the oil press is running, it is forbidden to use hands or metal bars to reach into the hopper to clear the oil. Only wooden sticks should be used to prevent the screw shaft from injuring fingers. Operators are not allowed to use iron rods or screwdrivers to adjust the cake wheel of the oil press to prevent accidents.

4. The motor equipped with the oil press must be properly grounded.

5. Before the oil enters the oil press for pressing, it must be pure. No stones or metal blocks should be introduced into the press.

Matters needing attention in daily operation of the oil press

  1. Before starting the machine: First, adjust the gap between the oil press screw shaft and the cake outlet. Move the screw shaft forward to the cake outlet, and then back off 2 to 3 times to control the gap to 0.5 to 1.0 mm.
  2. Before pressing: The oil press should idle for 3-5 minutes. Then, feed the oil cake or raw material evenly and slowly to heat the machine chamber. When the feed is dry, the body temperature can be higher; otherwise, it can be lower. Generally, the body temperature should be 70-80 degrees Celsius before the oil press can begin pressing.
  3. When pressing: Slowly adjust the thickness of the oil cake during pressing. The number of pressing passes varies for different oil varieties. The thickness of the cake is generally controlled between 0.25-0.5 mm. When the work is satisfactory, you can pull the lever to lock the adjustment nut and increase the feed to the normal amount. If the oil press does not discharge cakes smoothly or stops discharging cakes, stop feeding, pull out the feed adjustment plate, remove the stored material in the feed port, and then slowly withdraw the main shaft to clear the blockage in the press chamber. When pressing high-yield oil materials such as sesame and peanuts, press them two or three times in batches, with 5 kg per batch being appropriate.
  4. During work: Use a wooden stick to pound the feed port frequently to prevent blockage, strive to feed evenly, and remove leaking residue in a timely manner. The recovered oil residue can be put back into the hopper for continued pressing.
  5. Before stopping: Stop feeding new materials before stopping the oil press, but discharge all the residual cakes in the press chamber before increasing the cake gap to discharge the excess oil residue in the press chamber.
  6. After the oil press is shut down: Pull out the screw shaft and clean the residues in the pressing chamber and gaps of the oil press to avoid the formation of hard lumps that could affect the next operation.
